Introducing CCNG!
Welcome to Coastal Cities Nutrition Group! We are a group of registered dietitian nutritionists, (RDN), who specialize in nutrition counseling for individuals, couples, and families. This post is full of all the necessary information you might need to support your decision to meet with a dietitian for help for any of the following reasons:
Weight Management
Diabetes
Preparing Balanced Meals
Changing Behaviors of Disordered Eating Patterns
Shopping for Food on a Budget
Digestive struggles
Insert your struggle with food here!
First, we want you to think about your answers to these 3 questions:
What does my relationship with food look like?
How much time (and money) have I spent trying to lose weight?
What have I already done to reach my health goals?
Now think about CCNG’s philosophy:
We help clients find a relationship with food which creates a balance between physical and mental health, and allows the individual to enjoy food and improve their health.
If this resonates with you please continue reading for how the process of meeting with a dietitian can help you reach your goals!
How can an RDN help you?
The food we eat and our overall health is a more complex dynamic than choosing healthy vs. unhealthy food. If everyone “ate healthy” would there be any heart disease, diabetes or high blood pressure? Our answer is not a simple yes or no. Our group of dietitians will help you look at the overall relationship you have with food and how it is affecting your mental health, blood pressure, underlying medical conditions, and if you’re concerned about it, your weight. This does not mean we are going to tell you to eat salads everyday! We really are not going to tell you to do anything that feels unrealistic, or that feels like something you have already tried before.
Expectations of our clients?
We strive to create an honest dialogue, without judgement from either parties, that allows for our clients to feel comfortable sharing their health concerns. We do not want to hear about “how healthy your meals were yesterday.” We hope that you will treat yourself the same regardless of whether you ate an apple or a piece of pizza.
Please tell us what your expectations are of us as your dietitians.
